
Douglas-White Seed Grant

SDEF and its named funds will periodically accept and support proposals not associated with a specific foundation request. Proposals will be accepted, evaluated and funds allocated on a case by case basis only. Please submit proposals via the email address with the subject "Unsolicited Proposal - title of request".

The 2026 Scholarships and Grant offerings focus on students pursing college level studies in the fields of Music and Education. While the Grant is focused on early career (0-2 years) teachers. In both cases specific schools and geographic location criteria are being applied. Pay close attention to the criteria for each offering to assure eligibility. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2026. Apply via the QR code shown on each announcement.

Angela Scott Music Scholarship -open to high school seniors pursuing a degree in music or music education that attend Northshore or Slidell High Schools. Application link:

Douglas-White Teacher Seed Grant - open to early career teachers with 0-2 years of experience teaching at Abney Elementary, Alton Elementary, and Brock Elementary schools in Slidell, LA or Schriever Elementary, Southdown Elementary and Terrebonne High schools in Houma, LA. Application link:
